With the merging of the metaverse and celebrity culture, virtual Influencers have become creative medium that can offer exciting way to interact with young generations. We were approached by brands that are interested in virtual influencers, one of them is Freefire mobile game whom want to launch an MV for one of their gaming character - SKYLER
There are a few challenges. Freefire has had many characters developed for their game before but our challenge was to make the look of SKYLER look as real as the human version - Sơn Tùng MTP, from facial expressions and gestures and performance styles while keeping the duality of this character. Another obstacle was that we also only had 2 months to finish off the VFX production, including reimagining the futuristic HO CHI MINH city and the iconic tower Bitexco.
We worked closely with our 3D team from BADCLAY studio to develp the character and build the futuristic world he is in.
With SKYLER, we need to emphasize the duality in his character - one is the boss and another one is the daredevil, free artist. The story is based on Sơn Tùng MTP's real life story, and the music video is the statement of his achievement and duality successes in his career. Overall, we have over 10 animators and lookdev artists to develop, manually rig and animate SKYLER based on footages we shot on set on one day, we really pushed the VFX team to work with what they have with such limited shooting and post production time.
